Salary - £17.54 per hour PAYE // £21.71 per hour Ltd Umbrella

My client, a North London Local Authority, are looking for a Commercial Assistant to support their Housing Advisory Service (HAS) and its senior management team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the service's financial performance is robust and that it meets its statutory homelessness duties within budget.
Day to Day of the role:
- Monitor and report on the HAS staffing budget, including agency spend and funding sources.
- Report to the Net Deficit Control Board, ensuring actions are recorded and stored.
- Implement the financial governance framework within the Service.
- Identify high-cost placements in temporary accommodation and ensure strategies are being progressed to address them.
- Reconcile nightly paid rates on Adam to Civica CX computer systems and make relevant amendments.
- Maintain comprehensive and organised records of all activities.
- Prepare regular reports on budget performance and financial status.
- Identify and mitigate risks to the HAS budget.
- Liaise with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Respond to queries and provide information as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a commercial or financial role, preferably within a housing or public sector environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
