Phoenix is a multi-cultural 11-19 secondary school, serving 1,950 students in the North of West Bromwich close to the border with Walsall in the West Midlands. Opened in September 2010, as a result of the merger of two local schools, Phoenix has established itself as one of the highest performing schools in the area, an accolade achieved through commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning and the provision of an exciting and dynamic learning experience for students.
Over recent years examination results have been improving rapidly and we anticipate a progress measure of around +0.21(FFT) this academic year. Due to natural changes within the senior leadership team, we have a truly exciting opportunity for a dynamic, committed and forward thinking practitioner to join us in this high profile position in the pastoral leadership team.
As a school constantly focussed on improvement and with an ultimate goal of achieving outstanding status, we are seeking a colleague who has the drive, skills and attributes to add strength and breadth to our already strong team. You will play a key role to ensure the emotional, physical and intellectual wellbeing of the whole student body, with leadership of year groups being shared with another AHT, Pastoral. You will lead on behaviour strategy, systems and day to day behaviour matters with other key members of the pastoral team to ensure excellent standards are maintained.
The Assistant Head (Pastoral) is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and must be committed to the school's ethos, aims and strategic direction.
