Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours

Pay rate: £21.80

Are you passionate and experienced in providing Physiotherapy? Would you like to be part of a highly qualified team providing support in the assessment of women's health patients/clients with antenatal or postnatal musculoskeletal conditions and patients.

Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking an experienced Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to provide a high quality, responsive service for patients with neuromusculoskeletal/orthopaedic conditions related to pregnancy and/or women's health problems related to pelvic floor muscle dysfunction/ urological or gynaecological conditions.

Main duties of the job

o To be clinically responsible for a designated caseload of patients/clients and to organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.

o To undertake a comprehensive assessment of women's health patients/clients with antenatal and/or postnatal musculoskeletal conditions and patients with gynaecological or urological problems using a range of recognised and specialised clinical assessment techniques.

o To determine a diagnosis and prognosis through the application of clinical reasoning skills and specialist knowledge of physiological and pathological processes and syndromes, with neuromusculoskeletal/Orthopaedic conditions related to pregnancy and/or to women's health problems related to pelvic floor muscle dysfunction and/or other urological or gynaecological conditions.

o To be able to recognise when a patient may need onward referral to an orthopaedic specialist, obstetrician, gynaecologist or urologist due to the severity/prognosis of their presenting problem.

o To formulate/develop and undertake evidence-based plan taking into account the management options available.

o Use highly developed specialist skills to deliver individual programme of care. Reassessing and modifying as appropriate.

o To liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated service. This will include discussion of patient/client care and progress with GP's, Consultants, Nurses and Midwives, Social Care, Third Sector and other relevant staff.

o To develop, in consultation with the patient/client/carers and other staff as appropriate, a comprehensive management and discharge plan, ensuring patients/clients and carers have received the appropriate education and instructions.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
  • Post-qualification experience working as a pelvic health specialist
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
