Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer you will report into the Deputy Engineering Manager. You will ensure continuous running of the production machines by minimising down time during day-to-day operations, PPM'S Fault finding and repair.

Description

As a Mechanical Engineer toy will ensure continuous running of the production machines by minimising down time during day-to-day operations, PPM'S Fault finding and repair.

  • Providing a right first-time maintenance service to promote high quality product and services
  • Maintain plant and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Identify spare parts to effect repairs using machine manufacture's manuals and order through stores
  • Maintain engineering standards and records in accordance with ISO 9001 and 9002
  • Follow up on outstanding issues to a successful conclusion
  • Carry out weekly detailed inspections, maintain logs and defect report sheets
  • Maintain and improve plant efficiency through planned PPMs of production machines 8. Complete detailed maintenance reports using a computer based maintenance package
  • Report any dangerous occurrences or unsafe machine conditions
  • Carry out SUSA discussions and monthly internal safety audits

Profile

  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship (HNC/HND are desirable)
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • FLT/cherry picker if you dont have a licence willing to be put through your licence.
  • Welding
  • First Aid
  • Two years minimum experience in an FMCG production environment
  • Experience with Steam systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and PPM/TPM maintenance operations

Job Offer

  • Current shift pattern is a 12 hours shift working across days and night, on a 36 hour working week.
