HR & Office Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated HR practitioner to join our talented and friendly team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a standalone, generalist HR role supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and wider business.

This is a varied role and will include all aspects of HR, recruitment, and office management. This role would suit an existing HR Manager or a HR Advisor looking to take their next step into managing a HR function.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the HR function and be the primary point of contact for HR enquiries throughout the business
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with HR / people related projects and initiatives, working with external HR consultants as required.
  • Updating HR documentation and policies, e.g. contracts, employee handbook, job descriptions, DE&I, grievance, disciplinary, hybrid & flexible working, travel & subsistence policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, with support from external specialists as required.
  • Overseeing the professional development frameworks and programmes, managing the appraisal process and training requirements across the business.
  • Managing the recruitment process, including pipelining and sourcing candidates directly, working with agencies, managing the interview process, and taking responsibility for the applicant tracking system.
  • Managing the new starter onboarding process, including the preparation of contracts, co-ordinating induction plans, and providing the HR induction.
  • Managing the leaver process, including exit interviews and off-boarding.
  • Responsibility for the people management system, managing access, ensuring information is always up to date and proactively investigating how it can be used more effectively.
  • Delivering HR related training, e.g. appraisal process.
  • Championing employee wellbeing and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Managing the holiday, sickness, and absence process.
  • Advising, guiding, and supporting line managers and the SLT with any recruitment, employee relations, performance management, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, or TUPE situations, with guidance from specialist experts / legal as required.
  • Managing the employee benefits offering, liaising with providers, managing the admin, and communicating appropriate information to employees.
  • Responsibility for the HR budget, including tracking recruitment and training spend.
  • Maintaining and updating HR, Learning & Development and Benefits sections on company intranet.
  • Ensuring all HR data is managed in accordance with our Information Security Management System (ISMS) and data protection policies, supporting audits as required.
  • Providing general office support – answering the phone, ordering office supplies, managing facilities providers, distributing post, arranging travel and hotels, organising events and socials, helping to keep the office tidy and in order.
  • Welcoming clients and visitors and provide hospitality (lunch and refreshments).
  • Assisting with the day-to-day Health & Safety requirements for the business.
  • Providing admin support to the SLT as required.
