Year 6 class teacher job available in Portsmouth
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 6 class teacher to join our school in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a significant impact on the learning and development of primary school students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, creating an engaging learning environment, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages students to achieve their full potential.
This is a full time class teacher job starting in September 2024, for a class teacher to join their school for the academic year. As a Year 6 class teacher, you will be working in a three form entry school and will have the same PPA to share ideas and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective lessons that meet the national curriculum guidelines for Year 6.
- Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment.
- Assess and monitor students' progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with specific educational needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support students' overall development.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative working style.
