Interim Group Financial Controller

Stanton House is currently recruiting an Interim Group Financial Controller for a private equity-backed business located in the Northeast of England for 6 months initially. This business has ambitious growth plans and a strong market presence, this company is looking for a seasoned Interim Group Financial Controller to steer their finance function during a pivotal period of stabilisation and expansion.

As the Interim Group Financial Controller, you will:

  • Oversee Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, adhering to statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies within the finance function, optimizing systems and processes.
  • Support Strategic Decision-Making: Provide key financial insights to senior management, influencing strategic direction and growth initiatives.
  • Liaise with Investors: Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity stakeholders, delivering transparent and detailed financial updates.
  • Manage Cash Flow: Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting to support business objectives and ensure financial stability.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the business remains compliant with all regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the Finance Team: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting and analysis.

To be successful in this role you must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified), as well as this you will need:

  • 8-10 years in with significant experience in a Group Financial Controller or similar capacity, ideally within a private equity-backed environment.
  • Strong Technical Accounting Skills with a deep understanding of financial accounting, consolidation, and reporting.
  • An analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to provide strategic financial insights.
  • Adaptability and prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with the ability to manage change and uncertainty.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
