About the role

As a Team Leader Supported Living / Supervisor Supported Living/ Field Care Supervisor/Senior Carer, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring high-quality support across multiple locations, this role is community and office based. Your responsibilities will include overseeing staff performance, managing employee rotas, and developing and implementing key team strategies and policies.

You will respond to incidents and safeguarding issues, ensure the effective delivery of care plans, and maintain strict adherence to protocols. Additionally, you will assist with staff inductions and collaborate with management on care plan adjustments and risk assessments. We are seeking candidates for a Team Leader Supported Living / Supervisor Supported Living/ Field Care Supervisor/Senior Carer Team Leader Supported Living / Supervisor Supported Living/ Field Care Supervisor/Senior Carer. This is an exciting opportunity with a company committed to providing exceptional support for children and young people aged 12-21 in semi-independent residential settings in Milton Keynes, Bedford, and surrounding areas.

As a leading provider, this organisation offers individuals residential support for a wide range of complex needs, including: emotional and behavioural difficulties, mild autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Their therapeutic approach prepares young people for independence by addressing their emotional and behavioural needs.

Key duties

  • You may be required to provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the service. Mileage allowance available.
  • Support management in conducting regular supervision meetings to review staff progress, address challenges, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities following established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop, maintain, and monitor employee rota schedules as needed to accommodate changes in placement needs, workload, staffing levels, or other priorities as set out by management.
  • Support the line manager in the development and implementation of team meetings, strategic plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the effective operation in line with regulatory requirements and organisational objectives.
  • On call to respond to all incidents and safeguarding concerns following established protocols and procedures. (On call rota is flexible and to be given to Senior Management and Support staff each week.)
  • Develop and ensure that care/support plans are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed to address evolving needs and promote client independence and quality of life.
  • Assist management in overseeing the quality control and assurance of submitted reports.
  • Ensure staff maintain strict adherence to established rules and procedures at all placements, maintaining consistency and integrity throughout, by reviewing packages, performing spot checks.
  • Liaise with management and HR and assist with the induction process for new staff members, ensuring that all recruits undergo comprehensive training and have the appropriate resources to complete their induction.

Requirements/what do we need from you?

  • Self-employed individual required.

Full UK driving licence is required.

  • Strong knowledge in safeguarding, child protection and health & safety required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required.
  • Experience working with children and young people who may have mental health, behavioural, emotional needs such as Autism, ADHD and Learning Difficulties is required.
  • Passionate, positive, and caring individuals dedicated to supporting children and young people in residential settings required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Skills in British Sign Language (BSL) or knowledge of multi-sensory impairments and learning difficulties is preferred.
  • Restrained Train or deprivation of Liberty (DOLs) training is prefered .
  • Autism Training is preferred.
