**Position summary

IT Centre Europe (ITCE) oversees and manages the secure operations of IT applications and front-end systems used in all Bank of China (BOC) branches and representative offices located within Europe and Africa. As an Assistant Technical Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with planning, developing and managing the delivery of all functions within the Software Development team. This is a full time permanent position.

Essential responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Develop, test and provide maintenance for application systems for branches in Europe and Africa
  • Develop an understanding of Head Office policies and implement them in practice. Support IT Centre with projects
  • Coordinate with other departments to achieve the goals set by IT Centre
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department and make contribution to the development of the IT Centre to a fully functional, well managed and a highly efficient department
  • Assisting in making annual departmental plans and participate in supporting its implementation
  • Visit the clients for assigned technical projects when required

Person specification

  • Degree educated in Finance, Information Technology, Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other equivalent
  • Relevant professional qualification
  • Experience within the Financial Services industry and proven track record in similar business stream
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Good knowledge of IT industry
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly in the use of MS Excel
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
