The Graduate Fire Engineer
The successful fire engineer will have a relevant degree, BSc, BEng, MSc, MEng in fire engineering or a related engineering discipline, can also consider Building Surveying and Architectural degrees - if they have fire safety modules.
The Graduate Fire Engineer - Responsibilities
- Design and fire engineering analysis
- Developing fire strategies
- Complex analysis and developing innovative solutions
- Site visits and supervision of your designs for new buildings
- Liaising with construction professionals
- Identifying hazards in existing buildings
- Supporting expert witness in legal dispute resolution (for poorly built buildings)
- Develop knowledge of thermos-fluid and structural fire analysis and learn about the installation for fire safety systems
- Monitor the implementation of fire strategies and assessing existing builds
- Must be a good problem solver
- Highly organised
- Able to work within a team and independently
- Self-motivated
