Location: Sheffield

Salary: Upto £25,000 DOE + monthly bonus

Shifts: Shifts between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday - Friday

Must have Debt collection experience

Our client is looking for a Collections Agent to join their team in Sheffield. As a Collections Agent, you will be responsible for making and receiving telephone calls from businesses and individuals to recover outstanding debts. This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, with a basic salary of up to £25,000 (depending on experience) plus a monthly bonus based on your performance, giving you a realistic earning potential of £28,000+ per year. Successful applicants will be required to complete CCJ/DBS and other background checks prior to starting employment.

This company is a part of the Financial Services industry and is based in Sheffield. They work with some of the largest retail, banking, and commercial businesses around the UK to help recover overdue debts and arrange payment solutions, helping people clear their debts.

The Role

The Collections Agent will be responsible for:

  • Making and receiving telephone calls from businesses and individuals to recover outstanding debts
  • Handling difficult conversations in a sensitive and professional manner with customers over the telephone
  • Entering accurate records of conversations and payment agreements into a customer database
  • Following processes and guidelines regarding debt collection
  • Working in an open plan, contact centre environment – achieving personal and team targets

The successful candidate will have:

  • Numerous years in debt collection (recent)
  • Target Driven including Cash Collection & Revenue
  • Money motivated & used to earning good commission through excellent performance
  • Dialler Trained & Compliance Trained
  • Experience of other targets / KPI's such as Conversion, Calls Handled, Call Quality & Productivity
  • Previous experience working in a call centre or credit control type role is important
  • Clear and confident communication skills – both writing/data entry and over the telephone
  • Being comfortable working to targets – earning more money based on your achievements
  • Strong IT skills
  • Happy to make outgoing telephone calls to customers
