Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Cardiff
Pay : £12.82/hour
Hours: 8.30 – 15.30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
A small school near Ely in Cardiff, has come to Reed looking for Teaching Assistants to join them from September. The school caters for children with Autism, as well as other complex learning needs.
As a TA, you will be working with the Teacher to prepare lessons and encourage the engagement from pupils, supporting them on a 1:1 basis within a small classroom setting. The hours of work are between 8.30am and 15.30pm, with a pay rate of £80 per day.
We are looking for candidates with a bubbly and engaging personality, as well as having a patient and calm nature. You be working with primary aged children; some verbal, and others non-verbal, some pupils may also display challenging behaviours– therefore patience, understanding, resilience and a positive approach are a must for this role.
Work experience is not essential, but we are looking for candidates who have had direct experience with individuals/children with Autism and/or other complex learning needs. This may be your own child, a relative or within a role in another sector. You will have the knowledge and transferable skills to bring real life experience to support the children in the classroom. Training in the role will be provided and we ensure you complete all safeguarding modules prior to you starting.
