We require an Audio Typist to cover an existing workload within Metropolitan Police, based in Marlowe House, Sidcup (Predominantly home working).
This is an interim position for an initial 12 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.
Job Purpose:
- Candidates will be required to type up transcripts of interviews with Police Officers / Police staff to determine eligibility to maintain vetting.
- Role requires high levels of confidentiality and an understanding of dealing with subjects of a sensitive nature.
- Work will be allocated on a Monday and expected to be completed by the following Monday.
- Work can be completed over 2 days or manage their time over a weekly period but will only be paid for 2 days.
- Quality and Accuracy is key for this role ,Emphasis on the importance of speed and quality in transcription.
- Initial 100% check on transcripts to ensure accuracy, moving to sample checks as trust is established.
Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:
- Previous Audio typing/ transcribing experience required.
- Proficiency in transcribing audio interviews accurately and quickly.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information with discretion.
- Ensuring the accuracy of transcriptions, as these are critical for vetting processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Previous experience in audio typing or a related field, such as a paralegal background, is preferred
- Familiarity with transcription software and tools.
- Ability to navigate and work within the constraints of organizational firewalls and data security protocols.
- Clear and effective communication, especially when coordinating with team members and supervisors.
