Murray McIntosh is currently recruiting for a Transducer Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a client of ours as detailed below:
We are seeking candidates who have significant experience of working with transducers, ideally ultrasonic or acoustic, we are open to any industry background.
Responsibilities:
- Component level design, characterisation, prototyping and experimental validation of transducers to optimise the performance, reliability and production yield of sensor products.
- Produce detailed design requirements, technical specifications and experimental validation reports for the prototyping and introduction to production of transducer designs.
- Specify characteristics, measurement methods, testing and metrology equipment.
- Support electronic design and assembly related to transducer for new product development.
- Conduct investigations and root cause analysis of transducer-related issues and sub-systems.
- Create reports of theoretical proposals, FEA, design proposals and experimental results and develop standardized reporting tools.
- Provide estimates and progress reports on work breakdown structures, tasks and timelines for projects (or sub-projects)
Skills & experience required:
- BSc or MSc in Acoustics, Physics, Electronics or similar
- Piezoelectric component level design experience
- System-level design & analysis experience in audio and ultrasonic
- Proven experience in the design, prototype, test and validation of transducers
- Competent in commercial FEA modelling packages (electro-acoustics and mechanical)
