Tax Specialist

You will be expected to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating communication and coordination between internal teams and external advisors to optimize tax strategies and support business objectives efficiently.

You will be the kind of person who wants to make a difference within your day-to-day work, but of course there are a few other requirements:

  • Professional qualifications in accounting and/or tax.
  • Experience working in a multinational company, either in a tax function or finance role with tax exposure, or from an accounting and tax advisory firm.
  • Strong understanding of corporation tax and VAT.
  • Experience in transfer pricing, UK R&D, and Irish taxes is a plus.
  • Able to work independently, following established guidelines and policies, with minimal supervision.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the preparation and submission of the annual PSA (Pay as You Earn Settlement Agreement), with assistance from an external provider.
  • Contributing to ad hoc tasks, projects, and transactions, including issues related to tax governance.
  • Supporting the implementation of Global tax policies, including transfer pricing compliance and strategies.
  • Assisting in managing the direct and indirect tax compliance processes, including corporation tax, VAT, and plastics tax. This involves collaborating with the in-house tax team, accounting shared services center, and external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Supporting the oversight of the monthly group and annual statutory accounts reporting processes related to tax, carried out by the accounting shared services center, ensuring adherence to all deadlines.
  • Providing assistance to the team in handling tax inquiries and queries from HMRC.
  • Aiding the team in offering tax guidance, advice, and support on various tax matters across the business and the wider organization.
