SEN Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis, with the potential for increased hours over time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching core subjects and a commitment to supporting the unique needs of SEN/SEMH pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 tuition primarily in the student's home, with occasional sessions in public libraries or designated rooms.
  • Work with young people who are either permanently excluded from school or school avoidant.
  • Tailor educational plans to individual needs, based on EHCPs covering a range of conditions such as SEMH and ASD.
  • Focus on core subjects, particularly Maths and English, ranging from functional skills to foundation GCSE levels.
  • Engage older pupils in the Skills for Work and Life curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to cover 2 to 3 days initially, with the likelihood of increased days.
  • Comfortable working with a varied age range, from primary to 20 years old.
  • Ability to conduct lessons lasting 2 to 3 hours.
  • Proficient in using IT systems for attendance and learning records.
