K.A.G. Recruitment are delighted to be exclusively supporting our client, a well-established and reputable Manufacturing company with their continued growth and team development to recruit a Quality Manager to support their team of Quality Engineers at their site based in Wolverhampton.

Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £45,000
Benefits: 25 Days Holiday + BH, sick pay, wellbeing support and cycle to work scheme

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7 30am to 4 30pm, Friday 7 30am to 1 00pm

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities and manage to conclusion
  • Review existing Quality Control procedures and implement enhancements to achieve best practice
  • Manage and lead the QC Goods In Inspector
  • Support and improve the PDI Process and Inspection team
  • Drive cultural change to encourage "right first time first" culture
  • Champion, manage and maintain the CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) with regard to PDI, Production and Engineering issues
  • Work with Managers and Team Leaders to ensure Quality Control compliance and improvement
  • Enhance Customer complaint and internal non-conformance investigations to identify root cause and appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintenance of quality records, control plans and checklists to ensure real time conformance to Type Approval requirements
  • Manage Supply Chain processes incorporating SQA requirements.
  • Co-ordinate Type Approval audits and inspections as required
  • Lead Quality Projects and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to support continuous improvement for customer delivery and improve business KPIs

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience working in a similar environment would be highly beneficial with knowledge of ISO9001 and Vehicle Type Approval
  • A background in Welding, Fabrication, and heavy Engineering is desirable
  • Experience in delivering robust solutions to quality concerns using problem solving methodology
  • Excellent communicator who can drive the team and build relationships with a strong customer focus
  • Hands-on - willing to flex up and down business to address key priorities
  • Ability to positively support all areas of the business moving towards a Lean Enterprise.

You will be an organised, analytical and self-motivated individual with previous experience working within a Manufacturing environment ideally qualified in Six Sigma who has led or Supervised a team of Quality Engineers.
