Police Digital Service strives to be the go-to partner for technology developments and programmes across UK policing. Our team provides technical advice and delivers services to help policing and law enforcement organisations across the UK prioritise and focus on technology efforts.

The National Management Centre (NMC) is part of Police Digital Services and provides visibility and control of information risks for policing. It supports the 24x7x365 nature of police operations, providing a threat detection and response capability for digital services before, during and after cyber-attacks, enabling stakeholders to understand and proactively manage risk across the technology estate at both the national and force level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordination and support of the administrative processes that underpin the services provided by the NMC. This will include liaison with wider stakeholders from Police Digital Services, Police Forces and the NMC teams including NMC Senior Leadership.
  • Work alongside PDS communications teams to ensure messages are clearly defined in a Cyber Security context for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Administrative activities in relation to internal processes, including but not limited to; access control to NMC shared documentation and the coordination of regular auditing process.
  • Support national cyber incident response briefings and meetings to ensure documentation, actions and information is managed in an efficient and organised way.
  • Preparation and creation of high-quality materials such as presentations and briefings for both internal and external meetings and events.
  • Organisation of both internal and external engagements / meetings, ensuring that appointments are realistically planned with regard to timing and venue; catering and resources are booked appropriately; preparing materials to support the event and taking minutes - shorthand may be required to do this.
  • Ensure onsite Audio Visual (AV) equipment is displaying content which is in keeping of facility and theme.
  • Conferencing facility coordination – Including supporting updates to visual content and conference room diary management.
  • Supporting recruitment into the NMC including overseeing the local on-boarding and off-boarding process.
  • Asset Management – Ensuring trackers are up to date, supporting escalations for broken / replacement kit and coordination of delivery / return kit.
  • Supporting creation & regular reviews of internal policies, processes, and guidelines
  • Undertaking such other duties as may reasonably be required of you to support the business.

What you need to succeed in the role

Essential:

  • Working on own initiative with the ability to produce high quality work without close supervision.
  • Strong communicator – written, verbal and listening skills with attention to detail when recording activity and decision making.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to focus and multi-task and effectively manage own workload.
  • Proven administrative experience preferably in a public service environment.
  • Experience in internal and external stakeholder management and engagement.
  • Proven ability to work effectively to deadlines.
  • The ability to be collaborative and encourage collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to further own knowledge and learn new skills.
  • Experience and regular use of Microsoft Office Applications and the Internet including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of handling data and statistics.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
  • Personal resilience and open to change in a rapidly evolving cyber environment.
  • A genuine passion for maintaining high quality support to our stakeholders.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional attitude and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to acquire SC and NPPV3 level clearances.

All applicants must be eligible for NPPV3 and SC clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been approved before starting with PDS.
