Science SEN Teacher

We are seeking a science teacher to join a specialist SEN school, dedicated to supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, learning, and social communication difficulties. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified instructor with a passion for motivating pupils towards high achievement.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Delivering engaging maths lessons to pupils with special educational needs and ensuring that each pupil's learning needs are met.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that caters to pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
  • Developing individualised learning plans and setting achievable targets for pupils.
  • Collaborating with other teaching staff and SEN specialists to enhance educational programs.
  • Utilising innovative teaching methods and educational technology to stimulate learning.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching science within an SEN setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with SEMH.
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN education.
