We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team within Vistry Kent, at our Greenhithe site. As our Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the following:

  • Ensuring our projects are safe, clean, tidy and presentable. At Vistry Kent we strive for the best results and further reward demonstrations of best practice and standards above the industry norm.
  • Assist the team in inductions and enforcing that sub-contractors work in line with site rules and RAMS.
  • To ensure H&S documents are undertaken and completed correctly providing statutory and business compliance.
  • Maintaining workmanship and quality assurance standards, promoting best practice and enforcing NHBC standards and Building Regulations.
  • Achieving programme dates and writing short term programmes.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance checks through the build and at key stages to ensure the highest quality workmanship.
  • Taking control of key stage inspections with the NHBC.
  • Support and assist our sales, customer service teams and customers by ensuring our customers journey through the process is positive with engagement meetings and looking after customers for 8 weeks following their legal completion.

  • Strong Time management skills with an ability to prioritise
  • Proficient in MS Office programmes; particularly Word and Outlook

  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to mentor and develop others

More about the Site Manager role...

  • Write programmes and ensure programme dates are achieved, motivating teams and subcontractors accordingly.
  • Ensure sites remain safe and presentable achieving a minimum of 80% compliance on H&S inspections.
  • Demonstrate and promote H&S best practice.
  • Conduct QA checks throughout the build and formal inspections ahead of key stage NHBC checks.
  • Enforce subcontractor QA is issued and held on file.
  • Utilise the Vistry 4Build App to record quality compliance.
  • Achieve NHBC RI Ratio of no more than 0.2.
  • Demonstrate and promote NHBC best practice supporting the wider team to achieve leading NHBC common scoring and CQR results.
  • Ensure materials are called off and delivered to maintain programme.
  • Ensure waste is monitored, reducing waste streams where possible and clear waste segregation is achieved.
  • Arrange/attend meetings on site with the sub-contractors on a weekly basis.
  • Agree and manage the equipment, plant, staffing and sub-contract requirements for the site.
  • Conduct/attend fortnightly meetings with trades on site to promote communication, standards and objectives.
  • Respond to all queries from trades and action accordingly.
  • Discuss site presentation at sub-contractor adjudication and site meetings.
  • Maintain the highest standard of site presentation at all times.
  • Meet with the Sales Team Leader weekly to discuss site presentation and progress and ensure that all actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all statutory records on a daily/weekly basis as required.
  • Ensure that all staff, sub-contractors and visitors to the site are appropriately inducted.
  • Assist the Site Manager in ensuring traffic management and site strategy plans are in place and reviewed as required.
  • Follow Company guidelines in relation to accident and incident reporting procedures.
  • In the absence of the Site Manager assess the site prior to the start of the working day responding to any emergencies and addressing any areas of risk.
  • Regularly walk all areas of the site to observe general standards of health and safety and take remedial action as appropriate.
  • Ensure all trades are using the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Attend health and safety and other training courses as required by the Company.
  • In the absence of the Site Manager, ensure the site is secure at the end of each day.
  • Ensure the forklift checklist is completed on a weekly basis and that all sub-contractor plant is roadworthy.
  • Include health and safety and environment on the agenda for all site team meetings.
  • Keep the health and safety compendium up to date at all times.
  • In the absence of the Site Manager accompany health and safety advisors during site visits and undertake remedial action as appropriate.
  • Assist the Site Manager in reviewing and actioning risk assessments and method statements for all operations.
  • Deliver quality inductions to all sub-contractors on site to ensure the required quality standards are met.
