Management Accountant
Ely (hybrid)
We are seeking a Management Accountant to support the wider Finance Team of a large organisation in Ely. This role is crucial in ensuring that all official financial reporting requirements are met, including robust financial diligence and monitoring processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of financial processes, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant accounting regulations and delivering value for money.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Support the Head of Finance in ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, including the preparation and monitoring of individual budgets.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including budgets and financial reporting.
- Support actual to budget/reforecast analysis for each business unit month end, assisting in gathering detailed information to support variances.
- Review receivables/payables ledgers for older balances and ensure they are flagged appropriately.
- Keep accurate records and provide assistance for tax returns.
- Prepare and respond to queries on the documentation for the recovery of VAT.
- Suggest systems and process improvements.
- Assist in monitoring payroll and purchasing within agreed regulations.
- Support the preparation of documentation for the annual audit and implementation of audit requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and regulations.
- Ability to prepare financial statements and conduct budget analysis.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and responding to financial queries.
- Experience in supporting audit processes and implementing audit requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work proactively as part of a team.
- Constructive approach to suggesting systems and process improvements.
