Laboratory Technician
The Laboratory Technician role is a generalist Laboratory role, conducting day-to-day testing, monitoring, and maintaining of the chemical production environment as per the testing schedules. Working within the team, the Laboratory Technician will perform the day-to-day testing and monitoring of samples; escalating issues and concerns as per the escalation process. They will carry out regular, and often daily, chemical additions to and from the process solutions as well as assisting in the movement and storage of raw chemical stock requiring the ability to lift heavy loads while conforming with safe manual handling procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct day-to-day testing and monitoring of samples
- Escalate issues and concerns as per the escalation process
- Perform regular chemical additions to and from the process solutions
- Assist in the movement and storage of raw chemical stock
- Follow safe manual handling procedures
- Monitor and communicate results from testing
- Address technical issues in a timely manner
Requirements
- Strong laboratory knowledge within an industrial/production environment
- Ability to take direction, learn, and apply knowledge and skills within a changing operating environment
- Commitment to learning and the ability to apply knowledge in order to create solutions and resolve technical issues
This role is vital to support production quality and plating performance for the volume of work as per requirements.
This role is 50/50 lab work vs physical work i.e. moving drums around, weighing out chemicals, putting chemicals into tanks, managing chemical stock.
