Job Title: Mathematics Teacher - SEN School

Location: Southampton

Start date: ASAP

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Maths Teacher to join an SEN school in Southampton on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with SEN and the ability to adapt their teaching methods to meet individual needs. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective maths lessons that foster a love of learning and help students achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated mathematics lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and enhances students' confidence in their mathematical abilities.
  • Assess, track, and report on students' progress, collaborating with other educators and support staff to implement tailored interventions where necessary.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans for students with SEN.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes a love for learning and personal growth.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Mathematics Education.
  • Experience teaching mathematics to students with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN and a commitment to their holistic development.
