The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for an FMCG business. Based in Manchester, the role involves managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of products.

Description

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities within the procurement process
  • Managing supplier relationships for optimum performance including negotiations on price/lead time etc
  • Ensuring timely delivery of products
  • Working closely with the Procurement & Supply Chain team
  • Monitoring market trends to inform procurement decisions
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Contributing to the company's sustainability efforts by promoting responsible procurement practices

Profile

The successful Strategic Buyer should have:

  • Worked in a similar position within a manufacturing business and have a solid understanding of procurement strategies
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Knowledge of market trends and their impact on procurement
