Senior Management Accountant

To provide an effective Management Accounting service to the business, maintaining the General Ledger, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the company's financial records, communicate meaningful insights to the business and challenge the status quo.

Fully Qualified Management Accountant

Hybrid: 3 days in office.

Salary: up to £58,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce timely and accurate management information in accordance with internal deadlines and in compliance with the Group accounting policies (FRS102).
  • Prepare necessary journals to account for revenues and costs (including accruals and prepayments), ensuring all entries are accurately processed through the GL so that Management Accounts are produced and issued in accordance with internal guidelines in appropriate formats.
  • Provide insightful P&L variance analysis and commentary of revenues and costs to Finance, ensuring the accuracy and legitimacy of the accounts.
  • Taking ownership of the designated Divisional P&L and business partnering
  • Identifying and creating efficiencies in the close and reporting process
  • Ensuring the Balance Sheet reconciliations are auditable, working with the team to resolve any anomalies in the correct period and ensuring the schedules are clean, robust and ready for the annual audit.
  • Provide necessary support for the external audit by ensuring agreed upon timelines are met.
  • Communicating expectations and providing guidance where needed to our internal Financial Support team.
  • Take on expanded tasks during a time of increased workload for the whole team and ad hoc financial accounting tasks as assigned by the Financial Manager
  • Identify and implement process improvements to the above tasks to ensure these are being done in the most efficient manner and risks are mitigated.
  • Other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job and the title of the position that may arise from time to time or as required by management.

What are we looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proactive & inquisitive mind - enjoys finding ways to improve processes and enhance management information.
  • Ability to collaborate across the group.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to plan and prioritise.
  • Excellent IT skills - Experience of Microsoft suite of products, Word, Excel etc. (to include Pivot tables, Lookups, and Sumif(s) formulas).
  • Attention to detail, whilst retaining sight of the bigger picture.
  • Experience of multi-site businesses with high volumes of data and cost centres.
  • Knowledge of Divisional / Regional / Branch accounting.

Desirable:

  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics (GP, AX, or 365).
  • Knowledge of property market and associated services
  • 3+ years of audit experience ideally at a top 20 public accounting firm
  • Experience of working in a service orientated industry
