Hays education is currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant job to start in September for a primary school located in the Wigan area. This role will be a year-long contract with the school and could turn into a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. This schools' aim is to strive towards providing the best education for all of their pupils through a creative, challenging and relevant curriculum. They have a supportive staffing system and all work well together as a team in order to ensure the smooth running of the school.
Your new role
This job role is to support class teachers who need to take time out of their days to plan and prepare lessons, as well as working on a 1:1 basis with pupils that are struggling/falling behind on work. You may be expected to cover various classes in both KS1 and KS2, so you need to be flexible and experience across both key stages is desirable but not essential, as the school are looking for an individual that is willing to learn. As you will be partially working as a PPA cover teacher, all lessons will be pre-planned, but it will be full class cover.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must hold a Level 3 qualification or above and have recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running.
