Company Accountant

Our client is a well regarded SME business with international presence within their niche industry
Following the retirement of a long term member of staff (20+ Yrs), FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Management Accountant / Company Accountant / Book Keeper to join the business based in Binley / Coventry area.

This position will work closely with the UK CFO and will form part of a 20 strong UK office taking responsibility for the below

- Assist the CFO with Monthly Management & Financial Accounting Duties along with ad hoc improvement projects
- Monthly Group reporting to European parent company.
- Transactional processing - raising sales invoices, processing purchase invoices, and making CHAPs/BACs payments to suppliers
- Credit control
- Cash management - processing cash receipts/payments, month-end bank reconciliation, daily management of the treasury reserve accounts, managing FOREX transactions
- Monthly payroll processing for 20 staff
- Month-end close procedure, closing ledgers, preparing, and processing journals and preparing a final trial balance for review by the CFO
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Fixed asset management
- VAT returns, P11Ds and tax analysis work
- Dealing with year end auditors and preparing the audit file
- Stock control/reporting
- Management of the company credit cards/expense claim processing and reporting

Due to the small nature of the finance dept, it is important that applicants are happy remaining hands on with transactional finance duties alongside that of the Management / Financial duties.
Whilst this opportunity has scope to evolve with the delegation of tasks from the CFO, this is likely to be best suited to a candidate that is happy operating at this level for at least the next 3-5 years.

The ideal candidate will ideally have experience gained in a similar role however those working in transactional finance wishing to take the step up to such a position will be considered.
This position is likely to be best suited to a candidate that is Qualified by experience or working towards or qualified in AAT.

A good level of IT Literacy is key to include MS Excel and experience of ERP Systems such as Microsoft Navision / Dynamics Nav / Business Central would be a major advantage but not essential.

This position is being offered on a full time, permanent basis with a basic salary of £35,000 to £45,000 plus excellent benefits that include death in service insurance and Private medical insurance cover for candidate and spouse
