We are seeking a talented and driven Patent Litigation Associate with 1-5 Years PQE to join our clients Intellectual Property group, focusing on patent litigation within the technology and life sciences sectors. As an Associate in this role, you will play a pivotal role in building our patent litigation capabilities while working closely with the head of practice a leading figure in the Patent litigation field. This position offers significant client exposure, early responsibility, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the firm's growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on contentious patent matters, with a focus on clients in the technology and life sciences sectors. Provide strategic counsel that aligns with our clients' commercial objectives, including litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering expertise across a spectrum of IP rights including patents, copyright, trade secrets, and more. Take ownership of matters, ensuring high standards of technical expertise and client service.
- Manage and advise on multi-jurisdictional patent disputes, devising litigation strategies for clients on a pan-European and global basis. Collaborate effectively with international teams to provide seamless cross-border services.
- Work collaboratively within the IP team, contributing to the firm's sector focus areas including technology, life sciences, and decarbonisation.
- Assist in securing new clients, maintaining relationships with existing ones, and expanding our network within the IP community.
Skills & Attributes Required:
- 1-5 years PPQE in a patent litigation team within private practice.
- Strong background in patent disputes, particularly within the technology and life sciences sectors. Experience with complex technologies, such as algorithmic software, medical devices, and emerging assistive technologies, is highly desirable.
- Must have English court experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality client service with a commercial perspective. Comfortable managing significant client exposure and responsibility.
- A relevant academic background in law, particularly with the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice, is an asset.
