SEN Teaching Assistant

A 4-19-year-old SEN School for Autism is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant.

You will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing individualised assistance to help them reach their full potential. This position located near Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to their overall success.

What you'll do as SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to students with special educational needs, including those with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
  • Assist with the implementation of differentiated learning activities to meet the diverse needs of special educational needs students.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour and provide regular feedback to the SENCO and classroom teacher.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of the students.

We're looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant with:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills essential for interacting with school staff, parents, and caregivers.
  • Possession of certificates in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 09:00-16:00
  • Ability to commute to Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
  • MUST have the right to work full time.
  • The ability to start in September 2024.
