Financial Modeling Trainer - Company Financials Data - 12 Month Contract

The Company Financials team provides our clients with fast and accurate market-moving data so they can stay on top of their game: broker estimates, financial filings, and any other dataset that is useful to understand financial performance in the markets. Our products run on intelligence and industry-specific insights provided by the industry teams. We combine financial modeling, industry expertise, data management, and technical skills to curate critical metrics and drive insights from our data. We are dedicated to crafting an outstanding financial analysis and modeling product while continuously looking to improve and expand our existing offering through a deep understanding of the markets we operate in, the sectors we cover, and our clients current and future needs.

What's the Role?

The Company financials team is looking for an expert in financial modeling and analysis to develop the skills of 200 industry and market data professionals. In this role you will be responsible for putting together and implementing a high quality training curriculum centered around skill developments needed to improve Bloomberg's company financials data product. At Bloomberg we strive to make our curriculum exciting for both trainers and trainees; we use innovative interactive technology, and have a highly collaborative team, to ensure success for everyone. We aim to encourage participation and provide opportunities for trainees to learn from each other and the professionals within Data.

We'll trust you to:

  • Take ownership of planning and teaching a variety of classes on the topic of financial modeling and analysis
  • Collaboratively define course structure, content, and delivery methods to produce high quality training
  • Produce documentation and case studies to support self-directed learning
  • Work hands on with our industry/market experts to assist them with their financial modeling and analysis questions, and adjust course content depending on their needs
  • Develop knowledge of Bloomberg's company financial data product and adapt your approach to evolving business priorities

You'll need to have:

  • Please note we use years of experience as a guide but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years experience working with financial modeling at a buy-or-sell side, or similar academic experience*
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a passion for learning and teaching
  • Deep knowledge of financial statement analysis, financial modeling and industry analysis
  • Ability to flexibly adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to learn new technologies and techniques quickly through instruction and self-training
  • Ability to plan and execute projects taking multiple team member needs into account

We'd love to see:

  • Master's degree in relevant field and/or CFA designation
  • Experience covering multiple different industries and/or regions
  • A solid grasp of data management principles and technologies such as data modeling, data analysis and statistics to tell a narrative and/or generate data-driven insights
  • Experience or knowledge in Bloomberg Company Financials products, Bloomberg terminal fluency, and/or Bloomberg data workflows
  • Relevant training experience in an academic or professional setting
