A fantastic opportunity to join an independent company, that are becoming industry experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems. They now manage several fire and emergency systems for some of the UK largest hotel and pub chains. My client is looking for an experienced Procurement and Fleet Manager to join the team.

Main Responsibilities

The role requires a confident and experienced individual to oversee the purchase of products, services, and equipment for the organisation.

Procurement:

  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Sourcing of and negotiating with reliable suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
  • Preparing procurement reports.
  • Managing stock across all locations
  • Overseeing the daily activities of the purchasing team, including delegating tasks and supervising the current team.
  • Organising and running quarterly stock takes for the warehouse and remote stock locations.
  • Establishing quality control and ensuring that stock meets company standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries of the correct items and services.
  • Ensure and monitor that when goods are received the requestor receipts them on the database.
  • Identify and monitor high volumes of stock being held or ordered to determine a best practice.
  • Work with the Finance team and end users to identify and make improvements in the purchase order and goods receipt processes.
  • Build and implement subcontractor performance and management systems to support the Operation Management team.
  • Fleet;
  • Procure vehicles, whether through lease, purchase, or other means, according to company requirements. Maintain this ongoing around lease renewals and mileage limitations, to avoid any financial penalties.
  • Register, obtain licenses, and insure the company's vehicles
  • Secure vehicles, drivers (during work-related activities), and relevant assets
  • Partner with reputable repair and maintenance shops in favourable locations
  • Oversee and schedule vehicle inspection, maintenance, and servicing to minimize downtime
  • Maintain all vehicle information and inspection records
  • Securely store driver records
  • Reduce unnecessary expenses and increase fuel efficiency
  • Secure the fleet's compliance with applicable regulations
  • Analyse fleet performance data and improve accordingly
  • Report fleet performance and finances to upper management
  • Source and negotiate the best commercial Insurance cover for the fleet.
  • Source and negotiate the best commercial fuel purchasing considering driver base and coverage areas.
  • Vehicle inspection and maintenance
  • Real-time vehicle location tracking

Knowledge and Experiences

  • At at least 2years' experience in a procurement manager role, ideally within the engineering sector
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
  • Proven experience managing supply chain operations
  • Procurement cost management and analysis skills are essential
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
