Head of Manufacturing - Gas Turbine BusinessWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead and oversee the manufacturing operations for our global blue-chip client's UK Gas Turbine business. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality gas turbines while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and manage manufacturing operations for gas turbine production, including overseeing all aspects of production, quality control, and safety
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and processes to optimize production efficiency and meet production targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, planning and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes with other business functions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards, and implement best practices for workplace safety
- Foster culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee development within manufacturing team
- Manage and optimize manufacturing resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to meet production demands and maintain cost-effective operations
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve manufacturing performance and efficiency
- Drive initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability, and ensure adherence to product specifications and standards
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in gas turbine manufacturing, and implement relevant improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or manufacturing
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in manufacturing environment, within gas turbine or power generation industry
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to manufacturing operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with focus on data-driven decision-making
- Experience in implementing and managing manufacturing ERP systems and other relevant software tools
- Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, fostering culture of innovation and continuous learning
