Morgan Hunt currently require an Emergency Services Centre (ESC) Officers for Council based in Suffolk

Pay Rate: £14.23ph PAYE + WTR £1.71 = Total £15.94ph

Hours: 34hrs - Shift Pattern 06:30am to 14:45pm/ 14:30pm to 22:45pm and 22:30pm to 06:45am which includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

Location: Suffolk

Duration 6 months on going contract.

Suitable candidates will ideally have or be willing to study for a Public Space CCTV Surveillance SIA licence.

An enhanced DBS Disclosure and a Police Vetting Clearance will be required for this post.

Background

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join the Emergency Services Centre (ESC) team as ESC Officers. You will work as part of a dedicated team providing a 24/7 service for the Council.

The Role

The ESC Officer role is challenging and varied and requires good organisational skills and an excellent telephone manner. You will deal with customers, internal departments, and external agencies to provide support in emergency situations. You will need excellent communication skills as you will be operating various computer systems, radios, and alarm equipment.

Our main areas of operation deal with;-

  • Monitoring of closed-circuit television (CCTV)
  • Co-ordinating response to the Home Emergency Alarms Response Service (HEARS)
  • Taking out-of-hours calls from members of the public and external bodies.

You will be based in a Control Room for all your shifts

Shift and Rota Patterns

ESC Officers work 34 hours per week on a set shift pattern which includes evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. The shift rota consists of 2 x earlies, 2 x lates, 2 x nights followed by 4 days off. This pattern repeats for 10 weeks and then a float fortnight occurs where you will need to be flexible and from an 'on-call' standpoint pick up 9 allocated shifts across a 14-day period. These will consist of a mix of early, late, and night shifts depending on annual leave and sickness cover required at the time.

About You

You will be enthusiastic and reliable and educated with 5 GCSE's or an NVQ Level 3- and 2-years qualitative experience in a related field. You will work in a thriving small team dealing with varying emergency situations that arise on shift and be able to prioritise and work with your shift partner to find the best solutions.

Previous experience in dealing with the public and an excellent ability to operate windows-based software is essential. A high level of concentration is required whilst on shift to be able to quickly assess and deal effectively with a range of problems as they occur.
