Description
The General Manager will be responsible for:
- Management of the operational contracts.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing logistics team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Support with and initiate new contract discussion on behalf of the business
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support with the implementation.
- Accountability for the P&L, including forecasting and planning.
- Monitor key performance indicators and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure the necessary health and safety assessment are carried out.
- Manage the team and site to conform to ISO 9002.
Profile
The successful General Manager should have:
- CPC holder
- An educational background in business, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing a transport and distribution facility.
- Demonstrate successful management and planning of a P&L
- Knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding communication and client relationship skills.
- Change management experience with a focus on continuous improvement and transformational knowledge.
- People leader with the ability to create succession plans

- An attractive salary package in the region of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum.
