Description

The General Manager will be responsible for:

  • Management of the operational contracts.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing logistics team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Support with and initiate new contract discussion on behalf of the business
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support with the implementation.
  • Accountability for the P&L, including forecasting and planning.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure the necessary health and safety assessment are carried out.
  • Manage the team and site to conform to ISO 9002.

Profile

The successful General Manager should have:

  • CPC holder
  • An educational background in business, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing a transport and distribution facility.
  • Demonstrate successful management and planning of a P&L
  • Knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and client relationship skills.
  • Change management experience with a focus on continuous improvement and transformational knowledge.
  • People leader with the ability to create succession plans
  • Aspiring person looking to progress the operation, team and themselves.
  • Based within the Midlands, Stafford is a relatively central location
