Our client are seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit Specialist to join their dynamic finance department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and minimise aged debt, work collaboratively with various teams, and act as the main point of contact for all credit control queries. The successful candidate will have the chance to make a significant impact on financial processes, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the achievement of monthly cash collection targets.
What you'll do:
- Manage and minimise aged debt while striving to achieve monthly cash collection targets
- Work independently within a medium-sized team, prioritising your own portfolio of work throughout the month
- Act as a main point of contact for all Credit Control queries on your portfolio of clients
- Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
- Provide accurate advice on billing queries and take appropriate action
- Undertake account reconciliations as required
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity using the Accounts Receivable Collections System
- Regular meetings with Fee Earners to ensure all debts are managed and minimised
What you bring:
- Wide-ranging experience of handling a large volume of invoices
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving ability
- A natural initiative and good sense of responsibility
- Experience of face-to-face exposure with senior people within a business
- Accuracy and attention to detail with an aptitude for reconciliations
- Strong organisational skills/negotiation skills and Excel skills
- Knowledge or awareness of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM)
- Knowledge or awareness of Chartered Institute of Credit Management Quality Award (CICMQ)
