Job Title: Commercial Manager Location: WarwickSalary- £75k-£85k subject to experience and qualifications.

About the role

The successful candidate will be expected to manage all commercial duties on residentialdevelopments across the region and supervise, support, and develop junior commercialteam members. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a proactive attitude towards achieving successful outcomes in the following key areas:
Responsibilities will include:
Team Management:

  • Lead the commercial team, providing direction, leadership, and training.
  • Assist the Finance Department with recovering outstanding monies and accounts.
  • Maintain a database for standard house type costs to assist with cost estimation.
  • Oversee measurement and valuation of works for valuations, variations, final accounts, and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for team of QS undertaking measurement and valuation of works (onsite and from drawings) for valuations, variations, final accounts, and financial.
  • reporting purposes.
  • Create CVR Reports pack for review at CVR meetings.
  • Optimise cash flow through control of subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts.

Communication and Collaboration:

Internal:

  • Collaborate with the Technical Team to deliver value-engineered solutions.
  • Ensure timely delivery of tender enquiry information.
  • Attend monthly project team meetings on-site.
  • Provide accurate cost data to guide site teams' commercial decisions.
  • Work with the Sales Team to meet commercial requirements.

External (Subcontractors):

  • Manage subcontractor relationships transparently.
  • Facilitate cost certainty and risk understanding during procurement.
  • Assist with subcontract variation negotiations.

What you will need to succeed

Skills and Qualifications (required & desired)

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant construction-related qualifications.
  • 2+ years' experience at CM level.
  • Proactive, innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Full driving license.
  • Always represent Harper Crewe professionally in both personal appearance and conduct.

Desirable Skills (Training Provided):

  • Knowledge and experience with Mac OS operating system.
  • Familiarity with Eque 2 (Housebuild) for budgets, CVRs, and payment authorisation.
  • Exposure to Evision for financial works.
  • Understanding of Procure information database.

Package:

Competitive Salary - variable dependent on experience.
