Our client is seeking 4 enthusiastic Fair Trading Officers to join their team on a temporary basis. ?? Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with street trading legislation and regulations
  • Process new street trading designation and licence applications
  • Assist individuals and companies in developing existing or new street-based businesses
  • Support Neighbourhood Safety Officer Teams in enforcing street trading legislation
  • Conduct inspections of licenced animal welfare premises
  • Co-ordinate covert surveillance and targeted operations in accordance with legislation
  • Provide advice and assistance on relevant street trading and animal welfare legislation
  • Foster partnerships with stakeholders such as Croydon BID and Council regeneration officers
  • Promote and enhance the attractiveness of local street markets

?? Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Full UK driving license (clean)
  • Access to a vehicle to use for work purposes
  • Thorough understanding of the London Local Authorities Acts and relevant licencing legislation
  • Experience in street trading compliance and enforcement
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle confrontational situations
  • Business development awareness and knowledge of the local area
  • Experience in preparing reports and prosecution case papers
  • Effective staff management skills

�? Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Familiarity with market operations and planning

?? Technologies:

  • Proficient in relevant office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite)
