Quality Engineer - Operational / Manufacturing

Purpose

  • Responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, performance and continuous improvement of Project and Operational Quality Management and Control.
  • Day to day operational Quality Management and Control for the projects and/or processes you are responsible for / supporting.
  • Provide complete Quality Assurance and Quality Control;
  • Ensuring that all processes are carried out in compliance specifications and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Goods Inwards inspection (review of documents and physical inspections)
  • Raising & Management of Supplier Non-Conformance Reports
  • Traceability Control (audit and patrol throughout manufacturing facility)
  • Patrol Inspection of manufacturing facility
  • Route card operations/tasks as per planning system needs
  • Ensuring process compliance
  • Ensuring route card compliance
  • Ensuring MITP compliance
  • Client inspector liaison for Goods Received Notes/route card operation witnessing/MITP sign off
  • Operational Non-Conformance Report process support and expediting
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Dismantling inspections
  • Despatch / Final Release
  • Support to Internal Audit
  • Assist in the development and improvement of procedures and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement projects

Background

  • Ideally Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance or related subject
  • Proven Engineering, Business Management, Manufacturing or related field
  • Nuclear Industry experience required
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 3834, EN1090
  • Lead/Internal Auditor in ISO 9001
  • NCR generation and management
  • Experience of working to Quality Control Grading
  • Experience of working in highly regulated industry
  • Experience and understanding of process improvement
  • Strong Practical Problem Solving skills being able to lead and facilitate activities leading to improvements.
  • 6-sigma trained or trained in other problem solving
  • Good working practice in Microsoft Office packages including PowerPoint, Word and Excel (8D, 6-Sigma, 5S, 7Wetc)
  • Membership of appropriate professional body (i.e. CQI) or willingness to attain.
  • Ability to secure BPSS and SC is a conditional requirement of this position
