SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: SEMH School, Bamber Bridge
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £85 - £120 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the patience, understanding, and dedication to make a positive difference in their lives? We are looking for a committed and caring SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist SEMH school in Bamber Bridge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs, both one-on-one and in group settings.
- Assist teachers with the planning and delivery of lessons that meet the individual needs of the pupils.
- Encourage emotional and social development, helping students to build confidence and resilience.
- Manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or individuals with mental health needs, either in a support worker role or within an educational setting.
- A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (children's workforce) and the right to work in the UK.
- Ability to provide contactable references from previous employment or education.
- Patience, empathy, and a cheerful disposition.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs and helping them to thrive.
Salary & Benefits:
- £85 - £120 per day, based on qualifications and experience.
