Mechanical Engineer CBRE - Royal Surrey Hospital

Hays are partnered with a Global Leading Company, who currently support the majority of hospitals in the UK.We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team, working out of the Royal Surrey Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the installation of new mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical system issues, including breakdowns, leaks, and performance problems, to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as electrical and biomedical engineers, to coordinate system integration and ensure seamless operation.

What you need to succeed:

  • Level 3 or higher City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering
  • proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
  • Preferably -

Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) OR Chartered Engineer (CEng)

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, as well as relevant codes and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.

This role is single site and does not require you to have a driving license.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a healthcare or similar critical environment.
  • Experience in designing, installing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems.
