This role is full time with the opportunity to be extended for the right candidate.
**Responsibilities:
- Provide specialised support to learners with SEND, ensuring their educational and personal development needs are met.
- Utilise BSL or Makaton to effectively communicate with students.
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviours with appropriate strategies and interventions.
- Assist with personal care needs as required, maintaining the dignity and respect of learners.
- Collaborate with the team to create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
**The Ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
- Strong background in working with SEND learners.
- Proficient in BSL or Makaton; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Teach training (preferred but not essential).
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient with the ability to manage challenging behaviours.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility.
