Securities Services (SeS), a part of Deutsche Bank Corporate Bank business, offers Custody, Digital Asset Custody and Fund Administration services in over 30 jurisdictions to institutional and corporate clients, global custodians and central banks. The technology transformation programme has been running for three years now, using modern technologies (cloud, microservices, events), real time processing, data standardization, and significant automation.

You will be responsible for technology target state to support business objectives, collaboration with Corporate Bank and other technical domains of the bank to create simplified platforms and common services and improve overall technology landscape. The role requires technical background to work with lead engineers in the design of the systems and components, their end to end interaction with considerations of stability, reliability, scalability and security of the platforms. Digital Asset Custody is a greenfield development, and needs detailed technical understanding of this new area.

Your key responsibilities

  • Driving the development of an architectural vision and supporting patterns for Custody Transformation including enabling Information and Service Oriented Architectures
  • Assessing business and technology impact of potential data, application and technology architectures, product choices, patterns and/or configurations
  • Designing, presenting and communicating technical solution architectures, including associated artifacts, that address specific business need or opportunity
  • Representation or delivery of all SeS Architecture forums including Design Councils and Boards
  • Identifying and reviewing information and technology opportunities and/or emerging products that can be used to improve our Business Services and Products

Your skills and experience

  • Proven experience of Domain architecture or Information Technology (IT) system roles within an engineering or wider IT capacity at large organisations
  • Understanding of SeS products and associated product lifecycles and core banking, including the processes of the Custody, Clearing and Fund administration services is preferred
  • Strong knowledge for Data Platform Technologies and Application Frameworks including Oracle, Kafka, Spring
  • Previous experience designing architectures with blockchain infrastructures, distributed ledger technologies and/or smart contract platforms is preferred
  • Awareness of Cloud Design and emerging Cloud Hosting Architectures as well as associated data and security considerations (Google Cloud Products preferably)
