About the Role: Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Sales Manager to spearhead their sales efforts across the southern region of the UK. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Technical Sales Engineers, driving growth and expanding the market presence in the municipal and wastewater industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Sales Engineers to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to broaden the client's customer base and enhance its market presence.
  • Foster long-term relationships with large accounts, focusing on account growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design and engineering to craft tailored solutions that meet client specifications.
  • Oversee the entire sales process, from initial client engagement through to order fulfilment and project completion.
  • Regularly assess sales performance, providing detailed reports to senior management.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for new business ventures.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

About the Candidate:

  • Proven track record in sales management within the technical or engineering sectors, particularly in any related water/ chemical processing industries.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing high-performing, technical sales teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the sales lifecycle from conception to delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and expand large accounts with a strategic focus on long-term relationship building.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the South of the UK to support major accounts and sales activities.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for driving profitable growth in a sales-oriented business.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and Word.
  • A valid UK driving license as the role will require some travel to company & client sites.
