Location: Kitling Road, Prescott, Knowsley

Pay Rate: £15.67

Hours per week: 18:00 – 06:00 and 06:00 – 18:00. The rota is based on days and nights over a six-day period and is a 5 week cycle - 40 hours per week

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for Production Team Leader - Nights to join our passionate and driven team based at our client's site in Kitling Road, Prescott, Knowsley

The PFD Team Leaders are responsible for all aspects of production relating to the Print Finishing Department; production and resource planning, printed TV Magazine, Wind on, Onserts/Inserts, consumables and for the operation of the finishing lines.

In addition, they will be responsible for the palletising operation, all product movement in the Vanway including the management of the Vanway staff. The Team Leader will ensure that production efficiency is maintained whilst supporting operation of the line and leading the team in an effective and professional manner. The PFD Team Leader's will be responsible for both Operational and Technical performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and leadership for the teams within Print Finishing
  • Oversee production ensuring production targets and manufacturing efficiency is maintained on the finishing lines
  • Responsible for production planning both short (weekly production plans, schedule changes) and long term planning (christmas editions, product changes, forecasting).
  • Responsible for allocating and managing resources to support production plans and the overall resource efficiency of the Print Finishing Department
  • Ensure that complete comprehensive pre-run line checks, set up procedures and post run checks are completed by Line Operators and FSO's
  • Ensure process quality is assured to the site manufacturing standards
  • Assure compliance to NewCo Business management systems
  • Ensure departmental reporting is accurate, consistent and communicated to the management team in an effective and timely manner
  • Providing direction and support to the team under their responsibility
  • Detailed and constructive performance analysis utilised to drive performance improvements
  • Ensure effective and professional communication to colleagues in the finishing department, ensuring all equipment faults and line information is reported accurately
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to production concerns, performing remedial action to mitigate the impact of a problem Delivering for NewCo
  • Personnel management: responsible for rota management, employee RTW's, sickness/absence management, performance / capability management and employee development through performance reviews and PDR's
  • Liaise with business partners communicating well with NP engineering team, business representatives and support staff
  • Ensure line maintenance and cleaning tasks are completed in both PFD and Vanway areas.
  • Development of personnel through training plans and competency assessments
  • Provide Technical support across the Finishing department to assure that Print Finishing equipment is maintained, carry out effective fault diagnosis and fault resolution to assure Print Finishing required net output is sustained
