This role is for a leading financial services group based in the United Kingdom with offices in London and the rest of the UK - providing financial advisory services, wealth management, investment management and platform services.

This role is for a talented and motivated T&C Supervisor to help them achieve their goals and take the day to day running of our group T&C scheme and supervision of the financial advisers to the next level.

Position Overview

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who has worked for 2+ years in a T&C or financial advisory role, ideally within a small or medium sized organisation.

This is a hands-on role, requiring direct knowledge of advisory processes and Consumer Duty, and you must be able to confidently engage in all aspects of supervision under the T&C scheme.

You should have practical experience of T&C schemes and a good understanding of the FCA regulatory requirements around supervision of certified persons. This may either be through having worked in a T&C or compliance role or having experienced supervision yourself as an adviser.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Compliance Manager, the role will involve you ensuring that the T&C scheme is followed successfully and in accordance with the regulatory requirements and monitor the quality of advice to promote good outcomes for clients.

The role will also offer you the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and experience of compliance within an FCA regulated environment through assisting with compliance projects and supporting professional development within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide T&C supervision to a team of Financial Advisers
  • Support new advisers to achieve their certification
  • Take ownership of the T&C matrix and adviser T&C files to ensure the T&C scheme is on track and our records are robust
  • Collate T&C scheme data and report to the Compliance Officers
  • Conduct 1:1 adviser meetings and observations
  • Assist in the annual adviser recertification process
  • Ensure relevant CPD and SPS is maintained and recorded accurately
  • Monitor new business registers on a monthly basis to select files for post-sale review, covering all aspects of business written across the private wealth spectrum; inclusive of Pensions, Investments, Protection, IHT/Tax Planning and Mortgages
  • Undertake pre-sale client file checks as and when required
  • Liaise with financial advisers and paraplanners to provide file review feedback and ensure any appropriate remedial actions are dealt with satisfactorily and promptly
  • Liaise with our external compliance support firm, Threesixty, in respect to external file checking
  • Identify areas of risk on cases reviewed and recommending corrective actions under the principles of Consumer Duty
  • Work closely with the Compliance Officers in reviewing and updating compliance policies including those relating to T&C
  • Support the roll out of our annual regulatory training schedule to the group
  • Assist with the roll out of CPD events and web-based training to the group
  • Support training and development of financial advisers
  • Attend and presenting at internal meetings as required
  • Assist financial advisers and paraplanners with technical queries

Key attributes

The candidate must possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Prior experience of T&C schemes, either as a supervisor or a financial adviser
  • A good understanding of the FCA regulatory requirements surrounding the investment advisory sales process and are able to confidently manage all aspects of the T&C scheme
  • Good knowledge of financial products and solutions from across the market
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, supportive of others and promoting a positive working environment and culture
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards

  • Must be willing to travel within the UK

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Qualified to at least QCA Level 4 Diploma ideally with Mortgage and Equity Release qualifications
