Linux Engineer
A global telecommunications company is looking for a Linux Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis - The role will be fully remote, but there may be occasional travel to London.
Responsibilities
- Working with an operations team of highly skilled system and network engineers
- Implement security projects on various server and networking platforms
- Installation, monitoring and maintenance of hardware and software
- Writing of scripts to automate jobs/processes
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience in system administration (primarily Linux)- supporting a production environment
- Must be a team player with initiative, ability to work independently and be able to see complex projects through to their completion.
- Scripting in at least one language (bash/Perl/python)
- Experience with deployment and debugging of complex applications
- Experience with databases including MySQL & mongodb
- Experience with cloud-based services & virtualization (AWS, VMWare)
- Experience with networking and security concepts including Juniper Firewalls
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
Bonus Skills:
- Past experience working with real time applications that are up 24x7
- Experience working on security initiatives (ie implementing ISO 27001 technical controls)
- Familiarity with opsview monitoring system
- Enterprise IT support
