This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Project Estimator, Cost Planner or Project Manager within Retail, to join a leading refurbishment and restoration company working on interesting building, shopfitting and retail restoration projects within the Commercial Hospitality and Retail sectors. Retail & Hospitality restoration projects include Hotels, restaurants, bar, nightclubs, accommodation and holiday parks. The successful Building Project Estimator / Cost Planner will be tasked with attending pre-approved and scheduled appointments to visit client's premises to survey, measure, quantify and price up varying work projects.

Building Project Estimator / Cost Planner Projects include Furniture Restoration (Upholstery and seating), Carpentry, Surface Repair and floor to ceiling retail restoration projects.

Working from home, the appointed Building Project Estimator / Cost Planner / Project Manager will receive full training, but we are ideally looking for someone with the right transferrable skills, who is confident and able to communicate at all levels, be willing to travel within their region, take accurate measurements and descriptions of work that needs to be carried out.

A Project Manager, Estimator, Cost Planner or qualified professional within retail, building, furniture & upholstery, commercial seating, building works, surface repair, carpentry or any other restoration works, with the ability to quantify and price up work projects, will have a distinct advantage.

The role of Building Project Estimator / Cost Planner will involve:

  • To attend site visits and to take down and record all relevant information to estimate costs, materials and labour.
  • To engage with our supply chain to ensure costs are robust and solutions are buildable.
  • To provide regular cost updates to the client's surveying team and finalize negotiations prior to entering into a contract.
  • Travel within your region to attend company premises or work away on rare occasions (Fully expensed)

Building Project Estimator / Cost Planner Criteria:

  • Have experience with various construction methods such as but not limited to upholstery, building works, surface repair, carpentry or similar.
  • Experience in controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets.
  • Experience in reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications and measurements.
  • Good standard of mathematical ability
