Job title: Events Manager

Contract type: Full time (35 hours per week), 12 month fixed contract

Location: London

Salary: Grade 5. £37,390 - £45,000. Please note, for internal applicants the salary will be reflected by pay and award policy

Working arrangements: 35 hours per week between 8am and 6pm. Hybrid working - you will work in the office a minimum of 6 days per month and attend events when required.

We are looking for an experienced events manager to deliver an ambitious evens portfolio. You will play a key role in supporting team members, implementing policies & procedures as well as being hands on in the successful delivery of events and projects.

This is a fast-paced delivery area where you will work across a range of projects from high profile governance events, membership and fellowship ceremonies, core college conferences, principal partner events and internal communications.

As the Events Manager, you will be responsible for.

  • Overall management of events the RCP event portfolio including large scale conferences
  • Being on of the key points of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the planning process for college, governance and membership events
  • Scheduling & resource management
  • Management of event budgets
  • Oversee project teams on-site
  • Mentoring & managing junior staff day to day

Your experience includes

  • Educated to degree level or an equivalent relevant business-related qualification.
  • Proven experience of driving income through sales and sponsorship
  • Working at a senior management level
  • Marketing and publicity strategies for events.
  • Successful financial management of an extensive events programme.
  • Negotiating with suppliers.
  • Networking within a professional, preferably medical, environment.
