Our charity runs specialist services for autistic people, people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex needs. We work across Hampshire, South East England, London, Hertfordshire, East Anglia and Shropshire.

We are seeking a Positive Behaviour Support and Active Support Partner to become part of our Quality Assurance and Practice team, and to work with our operational teams in North, East and South London.

Depending on your level of qualifications and experience, we offer a salary starting from £38,000 to £43,260 per annum – we are happy to offer an informal chat and talk through your career to date! You will also receive an additional £1200 car user allowance per annum.

You will ...

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Positive Behaviour Support plans for individuals receiving services.
  • Conduct functional assessments to identify the causes of challenging behaviour and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Regularly review and update PBS plans to reflect progress and any changes in the individual's needs.
  • Become an Associated trainer in our BILD Certified Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards program.
  • Support the Teams through in Service Workshops training and group wide PBS and AS training
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to staff to enhance their competence and confidence in applying PBS techniques.
  • Act as a key liaison between the London Subsidiary and external PBS bodies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices and legislative changes.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the effectiveness of PBS interventions to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with families, carers, and external stakeholders to ensure consistency and collaboration in the application of PBS.

You will be supported, depending on your level of qualification, to achieve the diploma in Positive Behaviour Support and Practice Leadership with the British institute of learning disability (Bild).

Become trained in the SPELL framework and Person Centred Active Support (PCAS) to train the trainer level, certified with the Tizard centre, part of the University of Kent.

You will have the option to attend relevant conferences and seminars such as the Bild PBS conference. Other options regarding professional development will be available depending on experience and relevance.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing PBS strategies within a care or educational setting
  • Worked in education and/or Social care at a Management level.
  • Experience in delivering training and coaching on PBS principles to a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Key Principles of Active Support and relevant legislation and best practices in Positive Behaviour Support
  • Ability to conduct detailed assessments, analyse behaviour patterns, and develop evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong training and facilitation skills
  • Hold a full valid driving licence and have access to own car.
