Teaching Assistant - Early Years (Reception Class)
Position: Teaching Assistant (Reception Class)
Contract: Fixed Term (2nd September 2024 - April 2025)
Hours: Full Time, 5 days a week, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. The successful candidate will support a group of children in our Reception class, including those with additional Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play a crucial role in delivering targeted phonics interventions to learners both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality support to children in the Reception class, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
- Deliver phonics interventions effectively to groups of learners and on a one-to-one basis.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster a safe and engaging learning environment, promoting the well-being of all students.
- Monitor and record the progress of children, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents.
Qualifications and Skills:
- TA qualification at Level 2 or above.
- Confidence and experience in delivering phonics interventions.
- Understanding and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
